Baptism Services
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20 KJV

CONFESSION
In the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, the confession process holds significant spiritual importance, serving as a means of seeking forgiveness and spiritual renewal. Devotees approach confession with reverence and humility, typically in the presence of a priest or spiritual advisor. The process involves sincere self-examination and confession of sins, guided by the belief in the power of confession to cleanse the soul and restore one’s relationship with God. Through heartfelt repentance and the receiving of absolution, believers find solace in the assurance of God’s mercy and grace, fostering a deeper spiritual connection within the Ethiopian Orthodox faith community.
Holy Communion
Our Holy Communion services are a sacred time for our congregation to partake in the spiritual nourishment of the Eucharist. Led by our reverent clergy, these services offer a deeply meaningful and transformative experience, allowing participants to connect with the divine presence and embrace the teachings of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido faith. The act of receiving the Holy Communion is a profound expression of faith, unity, and reverence for the sacred traditions of our church.

Charity
In the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, charity is deeply rooted in the teachings of compassion and generosity exemplified by Christ. The church encourages its members to engage in charitable acts as a fundamental expression of love for one another and for those in need. Whether through monetary donations, providing food and shelter, or offering assistance to the less fortunate, Ethiopian Orthodox believers embody the spirit of charity as a central tenet of their faith. These acts of kindness and solidarity not only serve to alleviate suffering but also strengthen the bonds of community and foster a sense of shared responsibility for the well-being of all members of society.
WAKE SERCVICE
At DSKM Church, the wake service holds profound significance as a time-honored tradition of honoring and commemorating the lives of departed members of the congregation. These solemn gatherings serve as an opportunity for the church community to come together in unity and support for grieving families. Held prior to the funeral or burial ceremony, the wake at DSKM Church offers a sacred space for prayers, hymns, and reflections on the life and legacy of the deceased. Family members and friends gather to share stories, offer condolences, and find solace in their shared memories. Through this ritual of remembrance, DSKM Church upholds the Christian values of compassion, solidarity, and the belief in the eternal life promised to believers, providing comfort and support during times of loss and mourning.
